Overkruin High School goes Hi-Tech.

On the 7th of January, 2014, MetronetSA completed phase 1 of an initiative by the Overkruin High School in Pretoria North to implement a campus wide Wireless Network to support an E-Learning environment.  After upgrading all campus building interconnects to Gigabit speeds, a Wireless Network was installed consisting of nine high power access points to support the anticipated 1200 students that will connect to the network.  Student access to the network is not limited to the school local area network in that students can also purchase vouchers from the school that allow them access to the public Internet from the campus Wireless Network hotspot.

MetronetSA will now start phase 2 of the project which will include an E-Learning student portal that will serve as the means to distribute learning material and allow the students to communicate more effectively with each other and the facilty staff.  Phase 2 is expected to be completed by the end of March, 2014.
